We are dedicated to minimizing the loss of life and property through suppression, rescue, education, enforcement, investigation, and other innovative programs.

Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48 represents the brave fire fighters of the Cincinnati Fire Department, the first fully paid professional fire department in the country (April 1, 1853). Local 48 was one of the original charter locals of the International Association of Fire Fighters, receiving our charter on February 28, 1918.

It’s not every day that we get special visitors at the Local 48 office but today was the exception. Retired Captain Paul Gallagher stopped by the office and Local 48 President Matt Alter and brother Dan Boller had the opportunity to sit and chat with the Captain for a while.

At 08:39 Hours, Saturday, 2-22-20 the Cincinnati Fire Department was dispatch for a Still Alarm at 975 Grand Avenue, Cross Street Warsaw Ave. for a reported dumpster fire next to the building.
