With sorrow, we report the passing of Local 48 President Emeritus Forrest Buckley. President Emeritus Buckley served nearly 2 decades as president of Local 476/48 during some of the most contentious and heated times in our Locals 105 year history. Never one to shy away from a fight or state exactly what he was thinking, President Emeritus Buckley laid the groundwork for many of the benefits and safety items that Cincinnati Fire Fighters receive today including the 48-hour work week. Details on Pres. Emeritus Buckley’s arrangements are still pending and we will send out more information when we receive it. Please keep the Buckley family in your thoughts. Stay safe. ... Forrest was a great firefighter and the epitome of what a union president should be. That's how I will remember Buck.
Thinking of the Buckley Family. Mr Buckley was a staple of our childhood, his deep laugh and big smile will long be remembered. Long before cell phones he would call our home phone looking for our Dad, he would always say “tell him Buck called”. Reunited in heaven with Mary Frances, nothing but the best memories of Mr. Buckley. Including union summer picnics at Coney Island where he would assure us we would win the big prizes….that we never did “this is your year”….❤️. Thanks for the memories.
Thank all of you for the kind thoughts and memories of Forrest. He is the love of my life and my best friend. He loved his family, job, and fellow firefighters. A special thanks to Local 48, President Matt Alter, and Tom Donovan for your help and assistance. RIP Bucky and have that beer with Brinker. KQC767

YOUR Cincinnati Fire Fighters know a thing or two about coffee; nearly every firehouse, almost any time of the day, there’s a pot of coffee waiting to help YOUR fire fighters get through their 24, sometimes 48, hour tour. We support our local coffee shops and houses and cannot thank them enough for their support. We also want to give a shout-out and congratulations to the 4th & Vine Starbucks on their success in organizing as a union coffee shop. Solidarity. ... See MoreSee Less
